Asian Touri

The Asian Tour is the principal men’s professional golf tour in Asia. It runs around 24 events a season, including the Hong Kong Open and World City Championship. Ten of those events form part of its elevated International Series. It provides a pathway to LIV Golf.

The Asian Tour’s International Series event is attracting host of stars from Saudi-backed league, with Hong Kong expected to host LIV event in 2024.

According to sources, the tournament is expected to be held in the city in March next year at Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling, and will feature the likes of Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka and Cameron Smith.

The Open will be the eighth stop on this season’s International Series schedule. World No 2 Lilia Vu to play her first Aramco Team Series event at Hong Kong Golf Club next month.

Cameron Smith’s profile has been elevated by a major championship triumph, as has that of the Hong Kong tournament after it was made an International Series event.

The Asian Tour is taking an International Series event to the home of golf for the first time this week, and with eyes on American next, it no longer needs a partnership with the DP World Tour.

Ogletree cards final round 64 to finish seven shots ahead of England’s Ian Poulter, while Hong Kong’s Kho fires a 66 to finish in a tie for 10th, his best performance since winning the World City Championship in March.
